Vegan Substitutes

This blog is all about vegan substitutes for your favorite non-vegan meals. So yes, this is basically a huge life hack in a post. Here are our favorite substitutes that are used on a daily basis to make plant-based much simpler (and delicious!).  

1.    Nutritional Yeast - This add a cheesy flavor to any dish! 
2.    Nuts milks such as oat milk, almond milk, and macadamia (just to name a few – there are tons of different varieties) are a great alternative to milk or creamer. We personally LOVE adding oat milk in our lattes!
3.    Tofu Scramble - This is a great alternative to scrambled eggs. You can add turmeric, pepper, and salt to your tofu & scramble it to create a yummy breakfast. 
4.    Dairy products - There are so many brands that have great alternatives. Daiya is popular for their alternative cheese products. Mykonos has great butter and cream cheese. Kite Hill is known for their cream cheese. Most times you can find coconut yogurt in the dairy section of most groceries. Most ice cream brands like Ben & Jerry’s and Halo top have released dairy-free flavors. Check out your local dairy section (Or health food section, if there is one). 
5.    Jack Fruit - This is a great alternative to pulled pork. They look scarily similar but jack fruit has a nice fruity flavor to it! 
6.    Dark chocolate - You have to be sure to check the label but most 80% + dark chocolates do not have any dairy added. 
7.    Meat - Gardein and Beyond Meat are our personal favorite brands for meat alternatives. We highly recommend Gardein Orange Chicken!
